Christmas Pizzas

Looking for a fun, quick, festive dinner idea? How about homemade Christmas pizzas?! (Kids all over are shouting with glee!)

I found this idea from Pinterest (why do most of my conversations include that statement?), and here's the original link from the blog "delia creates". (Girl has some good stuff ... go check it out.)

Now, Delia makes homemade-from-scratch-just-reading-about-it-makes-your-mouth-water pizza crust. However, since I'm working with time and talent constraints, I decided to use crescent rolls instead.

(Please forgive the sad iPhone pics ... this was a quick "Oh! This would make a good blog post!" moment.)

I arranged the crescent rolls into a stocking shape (which was actually really easy):

And a tree shape (this one was a little harder, and not nearly as pretty ... but just as edible):

Notice I used a star cookie cutter for the top. Sweet!

Next, I added sauce and toppings. I used regular pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. I wanted to use diced green bell pepper for a garland on the tree, but no good bell peppers were to be found at my grocery store.

I baked them for about 12 minutes each until the cheese was bubbly and the crust was just starting to brown.

Here's the result:

Not too bad, huh? And they were VERY YUMMY!

The boys were very excited ... "Christmas pizzas?! You're the best mom EVER!!! You are so cool that we will now go clean up our room and never disobey you again!" (OK ... maybe that's not exactly what they said, but it's close.)

What fun festive snacks do you and your family enjoy during the holidays?
