Sweet Pink and Gold Baby Shower

Y'all, we've been in the house for four months today.

FOUR. MONTHS.

Dining room, sans table -- still waiting for that bad boy to go on sale.

That seems crazy to me, but at times it feels like we've been here for years.

Pups feeling right at home

It's coming along ... we're adding homey touches little by little.

Christmas present from The Hubs

This past weekend I hosted a baby shower for my brother-in-law's wife (my sister-in-law? Sister-in-law-in-law? Sister-in-law once removed? Whatever.).

They already have a 5-year-old boy and are expecting a girl, so they have NOTHING.

Three of her friends did most of the work helped with the shower, and I supplied the venue.

It will never be this clean again, so I had to snap a pic.

I made these sweet dot garlands for the shower, with the help of a scalloped edge hole punch (courtesy of a good friend ... thanks, Stacey!) and baker's twine ($1 section at Target, woohoo!). I bought scrapbook paper in pink, white and gold sparkles, punched out the dots, hole punched either side of each dot, and strung them with baker's twine (knotting the twine at one end of the dot to hold it in place).

So cute!

I hung it on the mantel, as well as the bannister.

I love how it turned out, so I'm leaving it for Valentine's Day.

Oh, I have to show y'all this. My friend (thanks again Stacey!) bought me these sweet ABC Scripture cards for my birthday last year. They are very thick and sturdy cards, each one with a Bible verse that starts with a specific letter of the alphabet. They came with a little easel stand for display.

I found them digging through my yet-unpacked boxes and decided this one is perfect for a baby shower!

And it's pink and gold. So on the mantel it went.

I also made some white chocolate covered pretzel rods -- so easy and yums!

Isn't that dish sweet? Thanks, Andrea, for letting me borrow it!

I also found some cute cheap paper products on one of the end caps at Target, and found these adorable paper straws in the $1 section -- love that place!

We did a diaper raffle (bring a bag of diapers and be entered to win a prize), so I set up a station for the entry cards.

And I set up another station for each guest to write her name and address on an envelope for the Mommy-to-be to send thank you notes.

Such a good idea!

Found those mini chalkboards in the ... you guessed it ... $1 section at Target. :)

I also made a front door hanger for the shower ... and since it's pink, it works great for Valentine's Day.

I spy a Georgie photobomb.
It was super easy (and fairly cheap) to make ... I've got another post in the works to detail how I made it.

Update: Click here for door hanger post.

We had a great time, and the helpers even cleaned up the kitchen before they left!

Another kitchen shot just because. I mean ... look at it! (And this is before all of the food arrived. That whole island was covered in goodies.)

Seeing all of that sweet baby stuff made me want another one ... for about 2.7 seconds. Then my almost 13yo and 9yo boys came in, wiped out all of the leftover food, and, well ... the baby urge just kinda disappeared. ;)
